Week 10 - Creating a Medium Complexity Model

Reference for Squidface

High Poly ZBrush Sculpt

Mad Max

1.      Who was the director of the film? What other movies has this director produced?
a.      The directors of this film were George Miller, who’s directed the new Mad Max films as well as Happy Feet, and George Ogilvie who also directed The Crossing
2.      Artistically, what did you like about this film?
a.      I like the way the shots really made you feel like you were in a post-apocalyptic wasteland as opposed to just a desert. It was also a good balance of looking foreign and different while keeping it looking like readapted versions of technology that existed while the film was being made
3.      Who runs Bartertown?
a.      Master Blaster is the one that really runs Bartertown. He’s irreplaceable, if he wasn’t he would have been replaced already seeing how he likes to flaunt his power, and Aunty Entity has to deal with his power moves. Technically though, both of them run Bartertown, I doubt anyone would listen to Master Blaster as a leader. They’re both needed, but it seems he has more control in this situation.

Blade Runner

1.      Who was the director of the film? What other movies has this director produced?
a.      Ridley Scott
b.      Also directed the Alien Series.
2.      Artistically, what did you like about this film?
a.      The dystopian feel of the city and how it was shown.
3.      Was Decker a replicant?
a.      I believe Decker is a replicant. There are a lot of dialogue hints that make us, and perhaps Decker himself, on whether he is human or not. It is very early on proven that one can be a replicant and not know it. Furthermore, Decker is asked if he’s ever taken the test himself, alluding to the possibility. Decker also doesn’t have any close friends or family show up in the movie to confirm whether his past is real or not. There’s also a theory going around about all replicants getting red-eye at some point of the movie, including Decker at some point.

"There's no mistaking a John Berkey painting; at once realistic, yet impressionistic and abstract, it's a style uniquely his."
